Otrzymałem odpowiedź od firmy Hagen z której, w nieco mętnej formie, wynika, że jednak nie gwarantują tak długiego okresu działania UV jak to napisał Seb tzn. 9 000 godzi (czyli dwa lata). Zapytałem jaka jest rzeczywista efektywność działania ich świetlówek oraz o różnice w podawaniu informacji na reklamach w polskich sklepach zoo oraz na ich stronie internetowej. Otrzymałem odpowiedź, że lepiej wymieniać je co roku, gdyż UV zmienia właściwości materiału przez który przechodzi i po jakimś czasie szkło z którego zbudowana jest świetlówka mętnieje na tyle, ze nie przepuszcza UV. O reklamach w polskich sklepach zoo, o 9 000 godzin ani słowa. Albo więc chodzi o czas świecenia świetlówki (który rzeczywiście może wynosić 9 000 godzin), ale bez gwarancji na UV, albo ktoś robi nas w konia. Zresztą dla znających angielski podaje treść odpowiedzi:
